KTH Master's Challenge

Eligibility Criteria

Participants in the KTH Master’s Challenge must be residents of Indonesia and eligible to study at the master’s level at KTH. You can view the admissions requirements for each master’s programme at universityadmissions.se. Check the Terms and Conditions for the competition's detailed eligibility criteria.

*KTH was ranked as the 29th best university in engineering and technology globally by the QS World University Rankings 2017.

Participants in the KTH Master’s Challenge have the chance to win a full tuition fee scholarship for a Master’s programme within Machine Learning or Vehicle Engineering worth approximately 475 million IDR. You can win an opportunity of a lifetime by studying at one of the world’s finest universities for free.

The winner from each track will also receive both a scholarship and an internship offer from one of the KTH Master's Challenge's two corporate partners, SAAB and Bombardier. The scholarship is worth over 300 million IDR and the internship provides the winner with valuable access to professional experience!

Competition Steps

You can participate in the KTH Master’s Challenge in five simple steps.

  • Register or log in and fill out your profile information.

  • Test your logical reasoning, knowledge of Sweden and KTH, and your academic background.

  • Complete a programme-related case study presented on the competition site.

  • Submit your motivational statement and make sure your profile information is complete.

  • Apply to the KTH programme you have chosen through www.universityadmissions.se

First, register for the competition by confirming your email address. Then tell us about yourself by complete your profile. Second, show off your skills in logical reasoning, knowledge about Sweden and KTH, and your academic background by taking three mini challenges. Third, complete a case study that challenges your knowledge in the specific programme you have chosen. Fourth, highlight your motivation and unique character by writing a motivational statement. Finally, apply for the programme you would like to attend on University Admissions. You must rank the programme as your first choice when applying. Without signing up for the programme on University Admissions, you will not be eligible to win the Master's Challenge.*

*Remember you can always return to the competition site and log in to complete these steps. The only exception to this is University Admissions. University Admissions is independent from the competition, but is a requirement so that you are properly registered with the Swedish university system.

Screening Criteria

Contestants will be judged based on their quiz results, the case study, and their motivational statement, as well as educational background and prior academic performance. Winners will be selected from among those who are accepted to KTH on University Admissions.

IMPORTANT: Contestants must meet the English language requirements to qualify for Master's studies in Sweden. If you have not taken a recognised English test, it is strongly recommended that you schedule one immediately.

Finals Stage

On December 9, 2017, five finalists from each of the two programmes will be announced (10 total). All finalists will be invited for a Skype interview with a Programme Director from their chosen master’s programme at KTH. Based on the evaluations of Programme Directors, three winner nominees per programme will then be selected.
